Beaker campaign nears its end.
The beaker chart reflecting our progress toward the $3 million goal is updated monthly with dollar amounts reflecting the prior month (this is due to the time needed to "close the books" and determine the final amount).
Just nine days remain until the end of our yearlong beaker campaign to earn $3 million from operations. We will know our final amount at the end of March, after accounting “closes the books” and our Finance committee approves.
In January, we saw an increase of $619,000, bringing the beaker total to $3,918,000. This was mainly due to higher overall inpatient and outpatient gross revenues, as well as improved collections and reimbursement.
February is historically unprofitable because there are two fewer days in the month to receive revenue. We also expect our interest rate payments on our debt to increase in February. However, I’m hopeful that all our efforts throughout the year to help us surpass the $3 million mark will outweigh these potential barriers and keep us on track.
As I have said before, I truly am proud of the many efforts you all have made, and continue to make, in hopes of reaching this goal. It will be essential that these efforts do not stop on February 28, when our current campaign ends, but rather that they become a part of our culture and processes moving forward. We have seen proof that these efforts work and that they’ve changed us for the better – so why not continue? Innovative thinking about how to improve efficiencies, save costs and grow revenue will always be crucial to the success of this organization.
I look forward to reporting our results next month. Thank you for all of your efforts to date and lets make the final push over the next few days!
Mark
