School at Work Program receives city-wide recognition
Ten SCH employees are participating in SCH's School at Work program, which encourages health care workers to advance in their careers. The School at Work program at Swedish Covenant Hospital is a 34-week intensive course geared towards preparing service-level employees for furthering their education and career. And the 2010 program is off to a very successful start.
More than halfway through the first of two semesters, SCH's ten School at Work students have focused their studies on refining grammar and writing skills in the workplace and developing communication and professionalism.
Mayor Richard Daley recently recognized thirteen Chicago hospitals, including SCH, in a press conference focused on a $176,544 grant from the federal economic stimulus program to support School at Work programs in health care.
